Il Duce

Best news of the week. Trump quotes Mussolini.

46255. winstonsmith - 3/1/2016 7:39:23 PM

I think a lot of the crap Trump does will be useful for the Dems in the general election if he is the nominee. I think there are lots of people who are less inclined to overlook things that his base does not care about.

46256. winstonsmith - 3/1/2016 7:41:23 PM

And, hopefully, Trump would drive turnout for the Democrats.

46257. winstonsmith - 3/1/2016 7:43:03 PM

While suppressing turnout for demoralized moderate Republican's who wanted Bush or someone like him.

46258. arkymalarky - 3/1/2016 7:47:19 PM

A number of prominent Republicans are saying unequivocally that they will not vote for him in the general election.

46259. arkymalarky - 3/1/2016 7:48:43 PM

They're also openly questioning whether this is the death of the Republican Party. Democrats are smartly holding their fire and making sure there's plenty of rope available.

46260. judithathome - 3/1/2016 7:48:50 PM

I think he's going to sweep Super Tuesday and kill off the Republican Party in one evening.

Speaker of the House Ryan comes out today after the major bombs have decimated his party and surveying the wreckage, lectures people on the dangers to the party if it lets someone like Trump become the standard bearer.

These idiots, rather than having all the candidates sign a loyalty oath promising to support the Republican nominee months ago...they should have done their utmost to stop this lunatic.

Now they are in the position of HAVING to support him or go back on their word to support the nominee.

Be careful what you you wish for....

And speaking of that loyalty oath, if Reince Priebus isn't kicked out of his chairmanship of the RNC after this debacle of a campaign, the Republicans are much more stupid than I thought.

46261. winstonsmith - 3/2/2016 1:25:54 AM

Judith, I agree. It's hard to see how Reince keeps his job.

46262. Ms. No - 3/2/2016 6:43:11 AM

i3b3,

"There was also a recent article that points out that Hillary and Bernie have voted the same on 93% of issues... so they ain't that different."

Yes, I've been pointing this out to people at every opportunity. Other than big-business, the only significant difference between Hillary and Bernie is on foreign policy, and I think I'll put my trust in the person who successfully served as Secretary of State and actually knows what she's talking about.

46263. winstonsmith - 3/2/2016 10:31:52 PM

Looks like Ben Carson is out.

46264. judithathome - 3/2/2016 10:43:03 PM

Did someone wake him and inform him of that fact?

46265. iiibbb - 3/3/2016 1:40:29 AM

Jesus-h-fucking-christ

What is going on in this country?

46266. judithathome - 3/3/2016 10:54:20 PM

I know....this is all over the local news and the state news....just shows you how far afield the Republicn PArty has strayed.

To think the RNC would support this moron is beyong belief.

Hey, Texas....you get what you vote for: didn't electing Cruz as your state representive teach you ANYTHING???

46267. robertjayb - 3/3/2016 11:27:50 PM

What fun! A battle of the filthy rich...

(NYMag.com): "Romney could enter the Republican primary race late in California and New York to deny Trump the delegates necessary to clinch the nomination. Then, at a brokered convention, Romney would emerge as the party’s choice on a second ballot. There’s no real hope that Romney would be able to beat Clinton — it would essentially be a suicide mission — but losing in 2016, while being able to cast the Trump phenomenon as a fringe aberration, would be better for the party in the long run..."

46268. judithathome - 3/3/2016 11:36:56 PM

Nothing will be better for the party in the long run...while I did think Romney's speech was far better than any he gave in the last campaign, it would be a suicide mission for him to accept a bid from from brokered convention...

Face it...the Republicans are reaping what they sowed...and it is biting them in their collective ass.

Warms the cockles of my heart!

Mitt is flexible:

“There are some things you just can’t imagine happening in your life. This is one of them. Being in Donald Trump’s magnificent hotel and having his endorsement is a delight.

I am so honored and pleased to have Donald Trump's endorsement. Donald Trump has shown an extraordinary ability to understand how our economy works. To create jobs for the American people. He's done it here in Nevada. He's done it across the country.

He understands that our economy is facing threats from abroad. He's one of the few people who stood up and said China has been cheating. They've taken jobs from Americans. They haven't played fair. We have to have a President who will stand up to cheaters. We believe in free trade and free enterprise but we don’t allow people to cheat day in and day out.”

BLM had better GOTV. I can't imagine what the GOP convention is going to be like.

46272. judithathome - 3/4/2016 8:41:04 AM

I watched as much of the Republican debate as I could stand, considering I had just eaten.

Finally, I had to turn it off because I was a room mother for 5 years when my son was in elementary school and I saw enough childish squabbling then to last a lifetime.

46273. iiibbb - 3/4/2016 6:22:35 PM

Trump and his goo-nads.... let it play a minute.
